We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Health & Safety Advisor to support the delivery of a major infrastructure project in North West London. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-profile scheme and play a key role in driving a positive safety culture while supporting operational teams throughout the construction lifecycle.

The Role

As Senior Health & Safety Advisor, you will provide leadership, guidance and support across the project, ensuring health, safety and wellbeing standards are maintained to the highest level. You will work closely with project leadership, site management teams, clients and subcontractors to promote best practice and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and lead best practice in health, safety and sustainability across the project.
  • Support directors, managers and supervisors in fulfilling their health and safety responsibilities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and delivery teams.
  • Lead safety improvement initiatives, development programmes and project-specific campaigns.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits and workplace assessments, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Review safety performance data and develop improvement strategies based on emerging trends.
  • Support the preparation and review of risk assessments, method statements and H&S documentation.
  • Deliver presentations, reports and safety briefings to project stakeholders.
  • Mentor and support junior Health & Safety Advisors where required.
  • Empower teams to challenge unsafe practices and stop works where safety is compromised.

Requirements

  • Relevant Health & Safety qualification such as NEBOSH,
  • Membership of a recognised professional body such as IOSH, IEMA or similar.
  • Proven experience in a Senior Health & Safety position within construction, civil engineering, infrastructure or tunnelling environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and management systems.
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections and incident investigations.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of major project environments.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office packages including Excel, Word, Outlook and Project.
