Design Engineer

A regional house builder have a requirement for a Design Engineer to join their Design & Technical team delivering residential developments across the North West region.

The company are an established housebuilder with over 35 years of experience, operating across North West. The company specialises in designing and building high-quality, modern and energy-efficient new homes, with a focus on thoughtful design, customer service and creating thriving communities. Alongside private housing, they also work with housing partners to deliver affordable homes, helping to meet local housing needs and create sustainable places for people to live.

Design Engineer role

Reporting to the Technical Director, as a Design Engineer working within the Engineering Team and be responsible for undertaking the design of infrastructure and groundwork's packages for residential developments from land appraisal through to construction. You will be responsible for appointing Consultants, agreeing fees, liaising with statutory authorities and ensuring that design sits within budget.

Duties to include:

• Procure service records and enquiries for new developments,
• Undertake In-House Road and Sewer designs for new estate roads and Infrastructure.
• Prepare Groundwork pack designs for tender and construction issue.
• Undertake Drainage, Foundation and Levels appraisals to support land bids.
• Secure S38, S104, S185 & S278 legal agreements to suit the development programme.
• Obtain designs for foundations and where necessary have input into securing structural

designs for superstructure components

• Maintain a continuous process of evaluation of any Consultant's designs to ensure that

proposals adhere to best practice in value Engineering

• Liaise with other Technical Team members and others as necessary to seek the discharge of

building regulations and planning conditions.

• Support our Site Engineers and Site Managers by responding to site technical queries.

Design Engineer experience required:

• Producing civil engineering drawings for S38 and S104 packs (roads, sewers and drainage) within the residential sector
• Proficient using design packages (PDS flow), micro drainage and AutoCAD
• Innovative approach to problem solving
• Capable of managing multiple developments
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Proven experience in the productions of value engineering design
