We work closely with all our clients to ensure that our recruitment activities are in line with their hiring objectives and internal policies. As specialists in construction recruitment we consider ourselves part of the industry and are passionate about improving the opportunities of everyone wanting to start or develop their career in construction. This includes embracing diversity in clear recognition of the advantages it can bring to the industry.
We use a wide range of methods for finding, attracting and engaging candidates. When clients have specific requirements and objectives we are able to build a bespoke campaign to match their candidate attraction requirements, where specialist channels can be used (please note some activities will only be part of a pre-paid retained recruitment campaign).
As experienced recruiters in construction, our focus and understanding is of a higher technical level than other recruitment businesses so we are capable of accessing a candidate on their ability, qualifications and experience rather than relying less objective areas such as personality where bias can enter short and long lists presented to a client. When CVs are initially presented to a client they are anonymised to reduce any bias based on a candidate’s name.
The diversity of the Fawkes & Reece workforce further helps to reduce any mirroring bias in any initial interviews we conduct:
- 65% of employees are male
- 35% of employees are female
- 75% of employees are from a White English background
- 14% of employees are from an Asian background
- 7% of employees are from a White other background
- 5% of employees are from an African/Caribbean background
- 4% of employees identify as LGBT
Fawkes & Reece have also been awarded the Disability Confident Committed Award meaning we ensure that disabled people and those with long term health conditions have the opportunities to fulfil their potential and realise their aspirations.
